Get Silk Scroll
running smoothly.

Setup takes about a minute. Your mouse and trackpad keep their normal behavior until Silk Scroll is enabled.

Getting started

  1. Open Silk Scroll. The settings window opens automatically when permission is missing.
  2. Grant Input Monitoring. This lets Silk Scroll receive wheel events. Input is processed only in memory.
  3. Grant Accessibility. This limited permission lets Silk Scroll post the smoother replacement scroll events.
  4. Choose Balanced.Use Precise or Silky later if you prefer a shorter or more gliding response.

Common questions

Why does Silk Scroll need two permissions?

macOS separates permission to receive global input from permission to post replacement events. Silk Scroll needs both to transform a wheel step without reading files or contacting a server.

Does it change my trackpad?

No. Trackpad and Magic Mouse gestures include native phases and pass through unchanged.

My mouse wheel feels too fast.

Turn off smooth scrolling in any other mouse utility so only one app transforms each wheel event. This includes the Smooth Scrolling option in Logi Options+.

The menu bar icon shows a warning.

Open Privacy Settings from the Silk Scroll menu. Enable the missing permission, return to Silk Scroll, and switch Smooth Scrolling off and on once.
